The largest Christian population in the Middle East are Copts, with 10-15 million (15% of the population) members in Egypt. We say that the small remaining Christian presence in the Holy Land is like the salt in the stew, with impact and influence far exceeding their weight. The same might be said of the Coptic presence in Jerusalem, where they number approximately 5,000 and are a key part of the Christian community.
